Launch of "Safe Home" initiative to train labor assistants on civil defense measures in 1000 houses in Umm Al Quwain Emirate

The General Secretariat of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain and the Department of Civil Defense in Umm Al Quwain have launched the “Safe Home” initiative in cooperation with City Safe Consultancy and Training Center on Occupational Safety to train the auxiliary workers in 1000 houses in the Emirate on civil defense measures and provide awareness lectures on kitchen hazards and how to Use of fire extinguisher and how to deal with house fires and evacuation guidelines during accidents.

His Excellency Humaid Rashid Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Executive Council, said that the initiative comes within the direction of our wise leadership to ensure a safe society through preventive community initiatives as well as reach the happiness of the community through achieving positive results for these initiatives and activate the role of partners in the Emirate to promote social responsibility.

For his part, Lt. Col. Dr. Salim Hamad bin Hamdah, Director of the Civil Defense Department in Umm Al Quwain said that the Civil Defense is always keen to raise awareness among citizens and residents and train them on how to deal with domestic accidents, and that this initiative aims to achieve the targets of the indicators of the Ministry of Interior 2017-2021 by reducing accidents Residential houses and deaths and injuries of community members through the application of awareness of this segment in the community due to the nature of their work and their permanent presence in houses and their role in the initial dealing with the incident and inform the Civil Defense and police of the incident because of its role in reducing the impact of the accident was identified 1000 homes In the Emirate to benefit from the initiative.

He said that domestic fires are among the highest in the emirate and the UAE. The impact of this initiative on home accidents will be studied through a committee specialized in civil defense.

For his part, Mr. Maher Qandil, Executive Director of the Center "City Safe" that the participation of the Center for this initiative comes within the social responsibility towards the increasing house fires and to activate the strategic partnership with the civil defense in Umm Al Quwain.

The initiative comes in line with the UAE Vision 2021 that the UAE be among the best in the world and the Umm Al Quwain Vision 2021, which is in line with the UAE Government's efforts to unify national capacities to achieve the quality of life of our society and our country and the strategic direction of the Ministry of Interior 2017-2021 and its objective to strengthen civil protection Through the implementation of best practices in the field of civil protection and safety, and in conjunction with the Year of Zayed to adopt community initiatives that contribute to the safety of our society.
